Message From the President

Paris Thie

Welcome to the Beta Eta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega! I hope that our website can provide you a glimpse of the sisterhood that has truly changed my life for the better. Beta Eta is comprised of some of the most genuine, driven, encouraging, and passionate women I have ever met; it is my greatest honor to lead them. When I became a member of Alpha Chi Omega in 2017, I had no idea what to expect as Greek Life was a completely new experience for me. In my search for a chapter that could serve as a home while here at Florida State, this chapter gave me more than I could ever imagine. Along with the friendships that I will hold onto for life, Alpha Chi allowed me to see my own potential and to blossom as a leader inside and outside of the chapter. Secondly, it has provided endless opportunities to network, hone in on my professional skills, and become a strong woman to the core in all areas of life. But most importantly, it gave me the space to be my most authentic self. I will cherish the amount of support, kindness, and love that this chapter of strong women has provided me with from the very beginning for a lifetime. All of the women of Alpha Chi Omega are continuously pursuing efforts to uphold our values – exemplifying academic interest, financial responsibility, personal development, leadership ability, and character. These values are not just written; rather, our members truly embody the aforementioned qualities in their everyday lives and witnessing their success amazes me. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our national philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, by hosting events in support of DVA throughout the fall and spring semesters with the intent to educate and spread awareness within our community and on a broader scale. For me, and many of my sisters, joining Alpha Chi Omega has meant growing into the real strong women we were destined to be, stepping outside of our comfort zones and honing the strengths and skills we never knew we needed, fostering a sisterhood that extends far beyond our four years here at Florida State, and growing with the sisters who have consistently supported us throughout the many trials and triumphs that encompass the college experience. Alpha Chi has given me everything I could have asked for in a sisterhood and I will forever cherish the memories I have made at the 518.
